A Leader in the Pursuit of Justice


 

 John Weed is an experienced prosecutor with over 18 years of experience. John has handled more jury trials than any other attorney currently at the State Attorney's Office.
John has extensive experience in high-stakes litigation, including handling DEATH PENALITY cases, homicides, and other serious prosecutions. John was the Lead Attorney and Supervisor of the Special Prosecution Unit for the State Attorney's Office. He led the unit that handled homicides, child molestations, kidnappings, and other serious cases. Under John's leadership, he ensured our communities were safe and the worst of criminals were brought to justice.


Military Veteran

A Veteran with a Legacy of Service


 

 John Weed is a two-time combat veteran, having served in Somalia and Iraq.
After graduating from high school, John joined the U.S. Army to earn money for college. During his service, John saw combat when he was deployed to Somalia.
John was an exemplary soldier. Through hard work and dedication, he rose through the ranks from Private to Commissioned Officer, demonstrating strong leadership and earning the respect of his fellow soldiers.
After his enlistment, John attended college and became an attorney. He thought his active military service was over—but then came September 11, 2001.
After September 11, 2001, John volunteered to go back on active duty. He served a year in Iraq with the First Armored Division.

John Weed has been married to his wife, Christina, for 29 years. They met while serving in the United States Army, building a strong foundation of service and dedication. After their military service, both John and Christina used the GI Bill to further their education—John to pursue law and Christina to advance her career in nursing.

Together, they have raised two children, Catherine and John. Catherine is an engineer, and John is preparing to start engineering school, following in his sister’s footsteps. John also served in the Army Corps of Engineers, applying his leadership and problem-solving skills during his deployment to Iraq. Their family values of hard work, integrity, and responsibility have shaped their careers and their approach to life.
